VOLUNTEER WITH US!

There are lots of volunteer opportunities in various different ministry groups, from being on the kids team, to helping lead worship, to helping our elderly and we would LOVE to have you involved! Training will be provided for all roles.

 
We have policies and processes in place to help keep everyone safe and are committed to high standards of safeguarding including a safer recruitment process , so if you are interested in volunteering, please contact the relevant person for more information, a chat and a role description and then once you have spoken with them please complete the following before you start serving:

For all volunteer roles at Wadsley Church we ask that you regularly attend Church services, are willing to develop skills and engage with training, treat everyone with respect and dignity and maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality, following safeguarding procedures where appropriate.

Volunteer recruitment process
Paper copies of all these forms are available from the Church Office.

  1. Please fill out a volunteer application form and read the safeguarding policy
     

  2. Please complete the confidential declaration form and return to the Parish Safeguarding Officer (Emily Kittle) Please see the Privacy Notice here

​

​​3. Please send this link to 2 references. At least one reference should be from someone outside of Wadsley Parish Church and one should be someone you know in a professional capacity. Both references should have known you for at least 2 years.​

 

4. Some roles, particularly all roles working with children, young people or vulnerable adults will need to complete a DBS check - we will send you the information about this once we receive your volunteer application form.

5. All volunteers will need to complete some degree of safeguarding training. Everyone who is volunteering should complete C0 Basics which you can access here. Please email your certificate to safeguarding@wadsleychurch.com when you have completed it. Some roles such as those who are working with children or vulnerable people will also need to complete C1 training which can be accessed in the same way - we will let you know if you need to compete this.

Once we have received all your documents, DBS results and references we will let you and the ministry leader know that you are able to start volunteering.
